Console Connect:
TAME THE BEAST
Console Connect was a new telco challenger brand up against global titans in a commoditised space. The brief was to show the world that they are the platform that helps reduce complexity, making connectivity easier.
So here was our thought process - managing your connectivity is more complex than ever, and complexity can be a bit of a monster. Fortunately, with Console Connect’s help, you can tame that monster for good. We created an ownable, visually striking creature that represented all the messy, ugly network problems IT professionals have to face every day, that with Console Connect needn’t be so scary. Meet ‘The Beast’.
The process
Creating a ‘beast’ which visually represents tech complexity is no simple task. However, we had the starting tools - out-dated technology such as wires and cables, floppy disks and circuit boards acted as physical objects that our audience would immediately understand in the context which could also acted as our base to create a body of sorts.
Below is a step by step development of our Beast through images, starting with some slightly terrifying beginnings before I quickly realised that there needed to be an element of cuteness and clumsiness (think Barney the Dinosaur x Mr Blobby) to create a Beast that could act as an approachable, lovable brand mascot.
