HOW the sausage was made
It’s already 2025, and, for the life of me, I’m yet to find anyone who is willing to talk about how the sausage was made. Every man and their dog bats it off in conversation like it’s nothing – “Let’s not talk about how the sausage was made”, “We shouldn’t delve too deeply into how the sausage was made”, “Please stop going on about sausages, Freddie”. Frustrating.
In reality, this exquisite turn-of-phrase refers to “the practical and often unpleasant or messy aspects of a process that are usually not made public” (Miriam Webster). But thanks to the complications of the English language, ‘the making’ of something could also be interpreted as the instilling of pride and the building of strong character in something or someone. In my mind that sounds like the dream combination for a British sausage-maker brand creating an awareness campaign.
Heck, wanting to express just how proud they are of their meaty produce and Yorkshire routes, here tell the personified story of a journeying sausage through treacherous terrain, homeward bound. A voyage that is truly ‘The Making’ of this delicious explorer.
